These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Lumi, operated by Om Society Press (“Lumi,” “we,” “us”), based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
1. Who can use Lumi
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you create. Children do not create accounts and do not agree to these Terms — you do, on behalf of your family. You’re responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
2. Your account
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You may create up to four kid profiles per family account. You may delete profiles or your entire account at any time from settings.
3. Free tier, subscriptions, free trial, and billing
- Lumi offers a free tier (one story unlocked per week) and a paid Wisdom Member tier (unlimited access), billed monthly or annually in Canadian dollars (CAD) through our payment processor, Stripe.
- New memberships begin with a 30-day free trial. We will not charge you during the trial. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, your membership begins and the membership fee is charged.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Each renewal is charged at the then-current price for your plan.
- We’ll give reasonable notice of any price change before it applies to you.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel anytime from your account. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and you won’t be charged again. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable; if something goes wrong, email us and we’ll make it right.
5. Member perks
From time to time, Wisdom Members may receive perks — such as affiliate links or discount codes on Om Society Press books as they are published. Perks are offered at our discretion, may change or end, and are subject to any terms stated with the perk. They are a bonus of membership, not a guaranteed part of it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Share your account credentials or resell access.
- Copy, redistribute, publicly perform, or download-and-share our stories, audio, or illustrations outside the app’s normal personal/family use.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
7. Our content and your license
All stories, audio, illustrations, and other materials in Lumi are owned by Om Society Press or our licensors and are protected by copyright. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and enjoy them with your family for as long as your subscription is active. Offline downloads are for your family’s personal use only.
8. Service availability
We work to keep Lumi available and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and can’t guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update, change, or discontinue features over time.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumi is provided without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Privacy
Your use of Lumi is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information and your child’s.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we’ll update the date above and notify account holders where appropriate. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
